I can’t believe baby day is almost here! I am really ready to hold this baby instead of comparing it to different fruits and vegetables this week. For the sake of consistency, though, this week baby is as long as a stalk of Swiss chard, which I happen to love. Baby is over six pounds now, too! Unfortunately, this baby has not budged and its head is wedged nicely under my rib cage. I have an ultrasound next week to check the baby’s position and, if it doesn’t move, I’ll be scheduling an External Cephalic Version for late next week. Then I’ll have a whole bunch of other decisions to make, such as whether to be induced or go into labor on my own, but I am going to try and take it one step at a time. Either way, we will be meeting baby VERY soon!
Right around 170 most days, so about 37 pounds.
Even my walking is getting less and less. I take Avery for bike rides around the block (I walk next to him) and we play outside, but I’m not doing much else. Everything starts to hurt after about ten minutes, so I spend a lot of time relaxing on the couch. Luckily, Avery is more than happy to join me! 🙂
Exercises will still be there after I have the baby. I am sticking with my stretching/yoga in the mornings to work out all the nighttime pains, and I do a lot of child’s pose and cat/cow to try and help the baby get in a good position for labor and delivery.
Finally something seems to be working for my acne–the steroid cream my midwife prescribed is healing things up slowly but surely. Other than that, just swollen and uncomfortable. What’s new? 🙂
No, not really.
Nothing really. As I get closer and closer, I don’t have any strong feelings about food one way or the other. I try to just eat something every few hours so I don’t start to feel sick.
The only reason I look forward to sleep is that it means when I wake up, I’ll be one day closer to baby. I actually dread going to sleep because I have such a hard time sleeping for more than an hour or two at a time. I’ve read a lot of great books lately, though, because of it! I also seem to hit a point each day where I literally cannot hold my eyes open. I’ve been guilty more than once this week of turning on Harry Potter so Avery and I can take a nap on the couch together. 🙂
Looking Forward to
Just getting this sweet baby home – whatever it takes!
Baby/Pregnancy Related Purchases
I recently became a brand rep for Vija Design and Milk & Baby and they sent me some awesome pieces to bring to the hospital with me for those first few days with baby. I received this Organic Cotton Halter Wrap, which is a super soft and comfy skin-to-skin shirt that I can wear while I’m lounging in the hospital bed (and once I’m back at home) and have baby right there on my chest. The halter strap can easily be pulled down for breastfeeding, too.
I also received the Molly 3 in 1 Labor/Delivery/Nursing Gown, which is also in my hospital bag! The straps snap down for nursing and it has a really comfy drawstring waist. It also has buttons in the back so the doctors and midwives will have easy access. I tried it on and I was surprised to see that it even fit right now over my huge belly!
Any Pregnancy Dreams
Any Baby Movement?
Yes, lots of rolling around and legs trying to poke out of my belly!
