Are you ready for some football?
The big game is only a week away! We usually go to my sister’s house for a fun little party where all the kiddos can play together (she has three and we have two) and the adults can watch the game. Or the commercials. I’m mostly there for the commercials. Although, we all end up talking so much that we miss most of the commercials and most of the game. I’m sure the people who are actually there to watch football absolutely love that about us. I don’t even know who is playing in the Super Bowl this year, so I am obviously not one of those people. 🙂
So I mostly go for the commercials, the catching up with friends, and the laughter. Oh, also the food! Party food is the best because you don’t have to cook most of it (haha) and you get to sample a bunch of yummy dishes. I try to keep it on the healthy side so that I know there will be nutritious options available. Of course, I think special occasions like this are a good time to allow a bit of indulgence, as well, but I prefer to load up on the healthy stuff and save a little bit of room for a treat (like the football shaped Rice Krispie treats I used to make every year)!
My favorite healthy Super Bowl recipes
Today I’ve put together a list of my favorite party-perfect recipes so you have some healthy options to take along to your Super Bowl party! P.S. I apologize for the horrible photos on some of these. A few of these recipes are some of my very first blog recipes and let’s just say my food photography has come a looooong way from where I started. 🙂
