Most summer days, I throw on running shorts and a t-shirt, look in the mirror, and tell myself, “You really should start dressing like a 36 year old.” Earlier this year, I totally overhauled my closet in an attempt to create more of a cohesive, mix-and-match wardrobe, and I’m actually really happy with what I put together. Unfortunately, it is just so easy to default to my old standby when I know I’ll be running around with the kids all day. Don’t get me wrong, I will put on real clothes when the occasion calls for it, like a date with Kevin or visiting friends and family, but at this point I’m pretty cool with donning my workout gear to the grocery store or the park.
This is why I was so excited to partner with prAna to try out some fun and functional pieces from their summer collection. I went with the Petra Top and the Lizbeth Capris. I wanted to choose items that were cute, would work with pieces I already had, and that still made me feel like I could roll around with my kids all day. prAna is perfect for every adventure, no matter where the day may take you!
My current swimsuit is actually a pRana suit (they still make the suit, just in different colors) from a couple years ago and it is holding up really well! Their clothing is eco-friendly and made from sustainable fabrics like organic cotton and hemp, and even recycled materials.
The Petra Top is just as comfy as any of my t-shirts, but it obviously looks much nicer. 🙂 It is made from organic cotton and recycled polyester (and it’s currently 40% off, along with a bunch of other stuff) and comes in four colors that will match pretty much anything in your wardrobe. I chose the dusty rose because pink is my favorite color and I know I could wear this top with pretty much any of the pants and shorts I own. This top has a loose, swingy fit, so I sized down to an XS and it fits perfectly. It is even long enough in the back to wear with leggings.
The Lizbeth Capris (also 40% off!) are made from hemp, recycled polyester, and a bit of spandex for stretch. They have some really cute details, too! I love the pleats and the three snap closure. They have the perfect amount of stretch so I’m comfortable picking up my kids and playing around on the ground with them. They run pretty much true to size, but if you are between sizes on their chart, I would size down.
What I really love about prAna is their dedication to sustainable fashion. As I learn more and more about “fast fashion” and how the clothing industry wants us to just consume, consume, consume, I would much rather support a company who cares about sustainability and the future of our environment.

Have you tried any clothing from prAna? I’ve got my eyes on the swim tights for kayaking and canoeing.
