This little baby is about the size of a navel orange now. It’s weird to think about it as something I can hold, but it also makes me feel so much closer to actually being able to hold it. By the way, I hate calling it “it”, but, because I don’t know the sex, I’m not sure what else to go with. 🙂
I did weigh in once and I was right around 147, about 15 pounds total. I’ve mentioned it before, but I gained about a pound a week last time and I am right on track to repeat that pattern this time around.
The CrossFit Open is OVER! Because we saw burpees in the first week of the open, I really wasn’t expecting to see them again…WRONG. My belly is not currently a big fan of burpees so I just took them nice and slow instead of throwing myself down at the ground like I usually do. I can’t help but wonder what the baby was thinking during all those burpees. I was able to RX this workout since I had done it before using the same weight (65# for the thrusters) and it felt better than expected. My time was much slower than the last time I completed this workout, but I don’t care too much about that right now. I am just happy to be active and feeling good.
I also taught two Aqua Fit classes this week and attended another CrossFit class.
I’ve been doing a TON of walking, too, because I WON a FitBit! I entered a giveaway on A Mindfull Mom’s website around Christmas and, shockingly, I won! I’ve had it on since last Friday afternoon and I always try to hit my 10,000 steps. I even challenged my sister to a contest to see who could walk more steps in one day and we both walked over 13,000 steps. It is definitely bringing out my competitive nature.
The magic word this week is BURPING! I’ve never burped so much in my life. And they aren’t normal burps, either. They hurt. They are uncomfortable. And they are constant. I’ve tried everything and even turned to other moms to find out what worked for them. I’ve started taking digestive enzymes and magnesium in the morning. I’m also still taking Reglan, although I’m down to just once a day instead of 3-4 times a day. I’ll let you know if I notice any difference.
Nothing new here. Anything I ate when I was feeling sick has the potential to become an aversion. I ate so much Mexican flavored food during my morning sickness weeks that I can barely look at it now.
Not much in the cravings department. I do have major ice cream cravings, but I know I can’t have ice cream every night so I’ve been making the Mango Banana Soft Serve from my FREE eBook, Real Food for Real Families. Sometimes I blend in strawberries, as well. It totally hits the spot.
Still not sleeping as well as I usually do, but nothing new to report. I have to switch from side to side (and take my pregnancy pillow with me) every couple of hours throughout the night. I fall right back to sleep, though, so it’s not too bad.
Looking Forward to
Coffee! I was so sick in my first trimester that I couldn’t really stomach the thought of coffee. Now, even though I am feeling better, it is one of those aversions I can’t get over. I’ve enjoyed a few Iced Americanos when I am feeling good, but they just don’t taste the same. I better get over this before Italy. I can’t go to Italy and not drink coffee! 🙂

Any Pregnancy Dreams
No. I feel like I had way more pregnancy dreams last time around.
Any Baby Movement?
Just some little kicks every few days or so. I am experiencing something that I am wondering if it could maybe be Braxton Hicks contractions? At least once a day I feel a tightening in my belly and then I have almost a butterflies or nervous feeling in my stomach. It goes away after a while, but I don’t know what else it could be unless the baby is doing somersaults in there.
